Midlake

Midlake were touring Antiphon (2013), their fourth record and first without frontman Tim Smith. I came in open-minded — Antiphon and the album before it (The Courage of Others, 2010) were both okay but neither lived up to my first love: The Trials of Van Occupanther.

Band of Horses

Band of Horses leaned heavily on the classics — Everything All the Time and Cease to Begin era material. Not much from the 2012 Mirage Rock record. No complaints.
